Bianco G, Vino di Anna 2022
Vino di Anna
Anna Martens and Eric Narioo started making wine together on Mount Etna, Sicily in 2008. They created “Vino di Anna” in 2010. They now own several hectares of old vine Nerello Mascalese, which they farm organically. They purchased an old winery and Palmento in 2010 which they have restored. They have extended the winery to bury a series of Georgian qvevri for vinification and maturation.
Mid straw in colour, this wine has lively citrus aromas of grapefruit, coupled with white and yellow peach, offering an underlying minerality and sapidity characteristic of grapes grown on volcanic soils.

Winemaking Manual harvested from different vineyards during the month of September, half the Grecanico along with the Grecanico Dorato was macerated for one week on skins, being foot trodden several times. The rest of the field grapes (including Carricante) were whole bunch pressed. Fermentation started spontaneously (and without temperature control) in a 20hl old, wooden cask with the fermenting must from the macerated Grecanico being added to fill the cask. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation and remained on light lees for 7 months. Bottled without fining or filtration.
